The history of Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket in the UK dates back to 1987, when LuK acquired Sheffield based clutch manufacturer Laycock Engineering and opened a sales office in Chesterfield


LuK acquired Alan A. Morgan Ltd., which was the largest distributor of LuK clutches in the UK at that time, and moved to a purpose built warehouse facility in Burton-Upon-Trent to form LuK Aftermarket Service.
